OBS audio issue after Hauppauge driver update

Hauppauge released a Windows driver update (version 1.6.37119.0) that was applicable to my HD PVR2 Gaming Edition that added the ability to capture 5.1 audio rather than simply stereo, so I applied that update. Indeed, Hauppauge Capture 1.2.38155 functions correctly and I can now capture 5.1 audio, which I like. However, if I try to use OBS (for recording, not streaming), that change broke OBS audio functionality with my Hauppauge. Video appears to still be OK. With OBS in regular stereo mode, or in 5.1 audio mode, the meters for both desktop audio and the HDPVR2 are forever at 0.0 db. The attached log file is from a 5.1 channel audio configuration, and shows many 'Error decoding audio' lines. Thank you.

Audio capture from Hauppauge HD PVR2 Gaming Edition still broken (video OK), with Hauppauge updated to driver version 1.6.38322, Hauppauge Capture updated to version 1.2.39095 (which works fine in either 2-channel or 5.1 channel audio), and OBS updated to 27.0.1. Still hundreds of 'Error decoding audio' lines in the OBS log file - a recent log is attached. It broke at the time I upgraded the Hauppauge driver as mentioned in the original post, so I'm thinking OBS may need a tweak to update its compatibility with the newer versions of the Hauppauge driver, although I don't know the nature of the work required (easy versus complicated).

OBS audio on HD PVR2 Gaming Edition (Plus?) still broken with freshly upgraded 27.2.4 OBS 64-bit version on Windows 10, and Hauppauge driver 1.6.38322.0. (video OK).

still get thousands of lines of:
Error decoding audio
errors in the log file.

This has been broken now in OBS for a couple of years. Hauppauge Capture works OK, fortunately.

Any update on this issue?
I’m looking to capture video with another capture card and 5.1 audio through spdif with a Hauppauge capture card.

No update from me to speak of - it's been broken for over three years for me. It's still broken with Hauppauge driver version 1.6.38322, and OBS as recent as 30.0.2, although the Hauppauge Capture app continues to work as recently as 1.2.41193, which indicates it's an OBS problem. I never heard anything back from anyone.
