obs audio is literally nothing but crackling

Your device "Device '1 - C27F591 (AMD High Definition Audio Device)'"
you seem to have configured three times at least.

Two times in general settings->audio as desktop audio 1+2 and
as a sound output source in your scene, too.

Get rid of two of them until you see, even with the active scene, just one meter and fader of desktop audio in your obs audio mixer.

so what exactly does that mean (I'm not very smart but if you added images i could probably figure it out)

Screenshots wouldn't help you much, because i have a german obs.
Take the words:

Settings -> Audio
There you will find your device mapping to "desktop audio" and "desktop audio 2"

I can't make a screenshot from your scene settings, too.
You should know, what your scene is, and what kind of audio source you added.

Keep calm, look thru your OBS and you will find the places. Then clean it up, so that your audio device is mapped in one place only.

so basically i have to get rid of all the other desktop audio meters and make sure obs is only recording the AMD High Definition Audio Device

YESSSSS... :D *thumbsup*
Please have a look into the obs audio mixer during recording. Your audio device should be seen only in one meter, not more.

Then report back if that helps.

I've an additional question. Are you using obs in a virtual machine? Its mystical that you seem to have an Intel i7 processor with just two processor cores alone?! oO

What does it mean:
and it didn't work

It's still crackling then?

And yes: A virtualization between your hardware and obs instance would be terrible. If you are not into it, can you ask someone near you? It's absolutely unusual, as i wrote. Perhaps somebody else here in the forum can contribute something to that matter.
