I'm using OBS to stream to Youtube backup server. I did a test where I started the main stream first then started OBS to the same url's backup server. When I stopped the main stream, Youtube automatically changes to my OBS stream. Right. So, this time I did the same way, but while my main stream still was going, Youtube was using the backup server from OBS. Why? I'm using the same encoding settings for both, main and backup. In the first test I used hardware encoding (Qsync) and the second time I used software (x264). Was this the cause? Facebook uses a different stream for backup and seems to switch between main and backup. Youtube only uses one stream key. Is the OBS option 'send to backup ingestion Youtube server' enough to priorize main over backup? Sorry if I'm using the forum the wrong way. Thanks for advice.
