Question / Help OBS as a microphone source for video conferencing

I stream music along with a webcam source. I am playing the music on one laptop into the OBS laptop as a microphone source. When I stream to You Tube I get much better audio quality than if I use You Tube alone. We all know that.

Now, I am trying to use a video conferencing tool instead of You Tube. It is FreeConference.com I use the "Virtual Cam" plug-in to use OBS as a camera source in the video conferencing app - but it seems the app is taking the audio directly from the microphone source and not running it through OBS. It sounds terrible.

In the video conferencing app, I can select OBS as the camera source. How can I make it so I can select OBS as a microphone source as well? (the audio is going into OBS, I can see it on the meters).

Thanks for any help!!!
Nick

From the virtual camera plugin FAQ:

Is there a virtual microphone ?
This plugin provide a directshow audio source which can't be recognized as microphone , only some programs like VLC can use it.
I know this doesn't really help with your issue, but may explain why it's not just just one setting somewhere.

Thanks for the reply. That is essentially what I am trying to do, which is to get OBS to show up as a microphone source in other apps. Sounds like maybe it doesn't do that....
