Question / Help OBS and Stream Labs OBS freeze my computer

OBS and Stream Labs OBS is freezing my computer, It doenst matter if I am streaming or just editing scenes. I get about 10-15 minutes in and I freeze.

AMD FX-9590
MSI GeForce GTX 1050 TI
16GB RAM

Does this happen if you disable ChromaCam? That software puts an insane amount of load on your CPU, and your CPU is rather outdated at this point.

I haven’t tried without chroma cam,I upgraded my processor from an FX-6300 (6 core, 3.5ghz, to this 9590 8 core 4.7ghz)I had no issue with the ol processor, I guess I shouldn’t have upgraded.

While the FX-9590 is more powerful, I'm wondering if you're running into thermal throttling. That chip runs at essentially a factory overclock to reach that speed, and is widely regarded as one of the hottest CPUs ever made. If you're using the same cooler as the FX-6300, you may be running into temperature issues.

Monitor your temperatures using either RealTemp or hwinfo, and see what you're running at (both for temperature and CPU usage) when you encounter the issue.

I thought that as well, I haven’t used either one of those programs, but I have the hue setup from nzxt and it has not shown high cpu usage or high temps. I will try another program.
