I prominently stream Overwatch, and on Tuesday both of them updated. This was also around the same day I happened to install another graphics card to try to offload some of the load of streaming onto the second card that wasn't running the game.
Well, it worked, I could get it on OBS, but I was getting hard freezes in Overwatch. Naturally I immediately thought it was the card, but I still get the freezes without it...
Overwatch During Freezes
Project Lasso during Freezes
Process Lasso without OBS (Dip at the end was closing Overwatch)
For those unfamiliar with the Overwatch netgraph, the gray bars represent the freezes. Orange has to do with net stuff.
Anyways, prior to Tuesday, with all this happening, I never had a problem. I'd get less FPS with OBS running, but never freezes. My rig would typically push 280+ FPS pretty consistently in Overwatch, but I have it locked at 239 because I have a 240hz GSync monitor. I didn't change any software settings from Monday, when I streamed and everything was fine.
Here's my OBS settings https://imgur.com/a/bDwIm I don't have any luck with encoding on the CPU, and bitrate seems irrelevant to the freezes. I do get some freezes when I'm not even streaming, just having OBS open. Streaming makes it worse.
My natural reaction was that it was because of the second GPU I just installed, so I powered it down, but the problem persisted.
Since then I've tried:
I've got an i7 2600k running at 4.5 Ghz, and a GTX 1080. Both are water cooled.

Since then I've tried:
- Windows 10 Game Mode On and Off
- Uninstall NVidia drivers completely, and reinstall
- OBS Processor priority set to every different level from the lowest to the highest
- Overwatch in Borderless Windowed, which it was prior to Tuesday, and Full Screen
- Downloaded Process Lasso and set them on different cores. Reduced OBS to 1 core, etc.
- Other games. Hard freezes seems unique to Overwatch
- Wiping the OBS application settings. Uninstalling, reinstalling.
- Scan and Repair for Overwatch
