OBS and NDI not talking to each other after Windows Update today

Hi all
I'm new to this forum and fairly new to OBS. I've been setting up multiple webcams so I can stream my jazz club to the regulars and others who can't attend due to the pandemic. I had it working beautifully and I was going to share some of the information via Zoom this morning, so I had a meeting set up.
I'd installed NDI and I connected OBS to the Virtual Input. My meeting was scheduled at 11:30 and at 11:15 my laptop decided to update Windows. When it had finished, the NDI source was not showing in the Virtual Input, despite the fact it was all set up in the Tools menu of OBS.

On top of this, I have two cameras on separate HDMI Video capture USB devices, both are being seen because I can switch between them on the one Video Capture siyrce but now I can't set up a second scene to show either camera. Both captures are showing black screens.
I am very frustrated as I had it working perfectly yesterday.
Does anyone have the same experience as me? I've reinstalled both OBS and NDI tools, and I followed the advice about laptop black screens on this forum - although I wasn't sure it related to Video Capture, more to Screen Capture.

Anyway, any help at all would be appreciated.

Hi folks
A bit of an update, I installed the OBS Virtual Camera and that is working, so I have abandoned NDI in favour of that, so one of my problems is now resolved.
I still have the problem with the two HDMI Video captures not being able to be shown separately on two scenes, which happened after the update this morning.
If anyone has had the same experience or has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Many thanks
JK

The problem seems to be with the USB Controllers addressed the the Windows Device Manager. HP published a trouble shooting guide that would be good for any brand computer at https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03327635 . HP suggests stopping and starting all of your USB Controllers to clean things up, but this means you still have setup time and probably have to assign sources for a project each time.

A potential solution would be to leave a powerful computer set up with everything on full time, sleeping between sessions. I just bought a powerful USB dock to see if this would allow recurring sessions without setup, whether the computer runs continuously or not. More on this later....

I am striving to set up 5 cameras between USB webcams and HDMI to USB adapters. I was hoping to leave them in place to start a stream or recording without wasting time on setup for each session, but my system doesn't remember connections between sessions.

You can also look at a comprehensive guide to USB at https://juicedsystems.com/blogs/news/know-your-usb-a-practical-guide-to-the-universal-serial-bus.
