Question / Help OBS and Capture Card Question

Hi guys, i was wondering if someone can help clarify a couple things for me. I'm using OBS to live stream some tv and webcam sessions on youtube just for fun. Ok so before i ask my Q's first i'll break down my setup. Dell xps 640 with a XFX Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 video card. The card has 2 dvi outputs and I got 2 monitors hooked up to that card. so so far i have those 2 monitors displayed just fine. I can select in OBS 'Display Capture' and see both monitors in OBS. But now i want to hookup my TV to my computer to broadcast/record stuff...But the card i have is not a capture card i guess so i need a capture card correct? That's my main question, but please read on...

To break down my experience a little more...My TV is actually one of those LG tv/computer monitors (LG 22LC2D). In the beginning, I tried going from my LG straight to my PC to do the TV capture (failed). What happened was first I set my LG TV input to 'TV Mode' (so it was showing some local news on the screen) then I opened OBS and chose 'Display Capture' (selected the LG display) hoping to see the news broadcast, but what i saw was desktop wallpaper. I then went to my LG and selected input 'PC Mode' and it showed my desktop, the same desktop the OBS was capturing. Putting 2 and 2 together i realized that the VGA out from my LG to the video card in my PC is not going to show the tv broadcast regardless of the input i'm choosing on my LG....my PC is still just recognizing it as another monitor. Even though I'm changing the LG input to display television. it does not change what the pc is seeing or what im seeing in OBS when i select the LG display.

My conclusion is that my video card is not a capture device. It cannot take a video signal inn. And I may need a capture card to plug my LG into in order to capture whatever im doing on the LG. Am I on the right track with this? My other concern is does my TV need to have an 'out' in order to output video/audio? or can i just plug an HDMI cable from my LG straight to the new capture card im going to get for my pc??

I'm obviously a complete noob, so i appreciate any advise or opinions from you guys. Thanks for reading all this.

Upon further investigation, I found out my TV does not have an out, and in order to output video/audio it needs to have an output. Derp right? Ok so I guess where i'm at now is for sure i need a capture card. Preferably one that has TV coaxial input, S-Video input, and composite video/audio input. This will allow me go directly into my card for recording or broadcasting purposes. But my concern is...How can i have this new capture card display stuff on my LG? I'm assuming the capture card will have some type of software in order to view what the card is capturing right? and if so i'd like to see it on my LG and keep the 2 monitors dedicated for other things, like displaying the OBS software etc. Is this possible? What i'm trying to do is to have 3 displays. 1 for OBS software to run on, 1 for a browser window so i can use to view the broadcast thats happening on youtube, and the last to view the actual content im broadcasting whether it be television, a game, a movie, etc.

What do you guys think about the HDML-Cloner Box Pro? I just saw this on Amazon and seems like it will allow me to plug my video source (ie game console/dvd player/etc) into it, then go hdmi out to my LG tv (for display purposes i guess), then go USB into my computer? Need some advise thanks guys. I'm thinking I need some kind of device like this to do what i want to do,...what say you???
