Question / Help OBS and AverMedia LiveGamer 4K (GC573) -> 3440x1440 not possible?

Hi!

Today I got a "AVerMedia LiveGamer 4K (GC573)" capture card and when doing some tests with OBS and that card I noticed that OBS seems not to support 3440x1440 solution by using that card?

What I get by using OBS is a 21:9 image downscaled to 16:9 - at my settings of OBS both, base (canvas) and output (scaled) resolution are set to the native resolution of the source: 3440x1440

As you can see at the attached image the canvas is 21:9 but the captured image is 16:9. The capture card does support 21:9 with that given resolution.

All 16:9 sources work fine with this combination. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Markus

Can you post a screenshot of your video capture device properties for the GC573? Also, a log file would help as well.

Just to be sure, are you on the latest drivers for that capture card? There was a driver update quite a few months ago that addressed some 21:9 capture issues.

Of course, attached are the settings of the device - this was a good hint, by default Resolution/FPS Type are set to "default", I've set it now to custom and 3440x1440 which seems to work. Looks like the resolution is not detected correct?

Also attached are the last two log-files.

Yeah, looks like it's defaulting to a 1080p capture by itself, which would explain the 16:9 aspect ratio. If setting the custom resolution works, then just go with that -- nothing wrong with it as far as capture goes.
