OBS 28 permanently screwed up recording and now I can't use it. Never going to use it again.

The new update screwed the rendering of recordings and now it is unable to record. It can record, but it is unable to render properly. Not posting this thread for a fix. I am just posting it to show how much of a bad idea this was. I can't find any better recording software, so I guess I can't record. Hope you're happy because you just lost a fellow customer. My brother never got the update, but I did. You targeted me specifically. I hate OBS now. I need to find a better recording software.

You lost a fellow customer? It's not like you're paying for this software, I severely doubt you've ever donated anything. OBS doesn't owe you anything. If the software version is not working for you, you can always downgrade to the previous one.

Talk about being entitled.

Gotta love that ignorant, entitled types who doesn't bother to read release notes or readme's, mess themselves up, and then blames others.
For others edification ... this was a major upgrade/update/change, on free open-source software. so, being aware of the changes, the fact that many plugins require updating, that testing in portable mode first would be a good idea, creating backups so you can revert if need be, etc - all is a user responsibility.
Knowing how to do all of those things (or, at least knowing you NEED to do those things and getting someone to do it for you, if need be) -> also a user responsibility... failure to know, understand and abide by these simple truths = {to quote from Lilo & Stitch} 'stupid head'

I don't know how to downgrade. It would not give me the option to downgrade. I am not ignorant. This is a rendering issue that I don't believe has log files to be made for them. I know OBS is free, but I felt like I was enjoying the software up until the update was forced onto me. Before the update, everything was fine. Right after the update, it is unable to record properly. If nobody wants to ever help with any issue that I have, even people directly associated with the software, I don't know what I'm going to do. Every problem I have seems to be unfixable or nobody even cares to help me at all. Making this forum to only get instantaneously hit with insults like "stupid head" makes me regret making this thread.

This was a mistake.

Just because you got angry at a software because you couldn't record your MUGEN gameplay doesn't give you the authority to come in here and start bashing the developers, or calling the update a "mistake"

OBS never "forces" a version on you, you can always skip the version completely, or just click where it says "remind me later." Coming in here and talking in absolutes doesn't mean you're right.

"Making this forum to only get instantaneously hit with insults like "stupid head" makes me regret making this thread." - You're the one that came in bashing and screaming about how an update targeted you "specifically"

You say you're not ignorant, but yet you're asking for ways to downgrade. Seems to me like you didn't even bothered in researching how to actually downgrade, when a simple Google search gives you the results.

That's the github repository for OBS, look for the version you want, download it and install OVER your existing installation. DO NOT UNINSTALL THE PREVIOUS ONE FIRST OR YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. Just install over the previous version.

Going to go ahead and lock this thread as both sides can't seem to stay cordial.

If you want assistance in fixing the problem, please make a new thread that explains the issue, and provide a log file (Help -> Log Files -> Upload Current Log to get a link) so a closer look can be taken.

As mentioned, all updates are optional. Nothing was forced, and you can just reinstall the old version from here: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-s....2.4/OBS-Studio-27.2.4-Full-Installer-x64.exe
