OBS 27.2.1 StreamFX 0.11.1 Failed to Start Streaming - Starting the output Failed

Hi,

I've been using OBS and StreamFX without an issue for almost 9 months now. Nothing has changed, except the versions of OBS and StreamFX.

Since updating to the latest version of OBS 27.2.1 x64 I can no longer stream using the StreamFX ffmpeg encoder. I get the error message that starting the output failed, and to update my video drivers. I am using the latest studio driver that supports my card (1080gtx) and have had NO problems until this OBS update.

I suspect the problem involves streamfx, because if I go back to normal NVENC encoding it will work.

I tried rolling back the OBS version (which 27.2 is no longer avaliable) to the rc4 build previous to that, but the settings screen still looks like the newest and updated settings screen and options, and still getting the error.

Short of wiping OBS and rebuilding an earlier version from scratch, is there anything else I, or the developers, can do to address this problem?

Thanks

They need Update. The same for streamlabs.

Remove the obs folder reinstall it and all wil work dont install stream fx in the Moment

Stream fx Marke the most of the plugin as unstable. so its not good as use it productive enviroments

The STREAMFX 0.11.1 update no longer supports VirtualCamera. I just updated and my Virtual Camera is gone now. I'm going to downgrade after all teh complaints I just read about other issues as well.

The encoder side of the new streamfx is really really nice. It's a pity that the new OBS update isn't being friendly

this has nothing to do with friendliness the developers of streamfx have to adapt their plugins and always remember almost everything is marked as unstable, so nothing for productive use there are always problems, maybe the young people should open their own obs fork!

Okay this is not making a whole lot of sense. I've wiped OBS and reinstalled older copies of both OBS and StreamFX and still getting the new settings page, and still getting the error.

I tried applying encoding settings one by one and discovered the problem preventing me from starting stream is having either of the reference frame options enabled. Either through the reference frames slider, or the -refs=4 command line argument added to the bottom. After removing both of these options I am able to stream again.

I have reupdated OBS and StreamFX to current versions and it continues to work as long as there are no reference frames settings. WTF?

I posted the log file which should have my settings in it. I suspect the newest OBS build updates the ffmpeg codec, which is why a clean reinstall of an older version still gives the same new encoding settings. I was running streamfx 11b fine, then 11 full release. It was the latest copy of OBS which broke everything.

edit: 27.2.2 hotfix fails to address the issue. Still happening
