This is what I use:

Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new)
Rate Control: VBR
Bitrate: 10000
Max Bitrate 15000
Preset: Quality
Profile: High
Max b-frames: 2

I use Elgato Capture HD60 S and I have audio as "capture audio only", I record Nintendo Switch

I tried the latest update to see if it would fix the one second audio cut but it didn't work. This has been an issue since I started using OBS and spent considerable amount of hours looking for a solution on google and youtube to no avail.

OBS v27 is two major revisions old now. A lot has changed since then. Some things are fixed already, and there are (of course) new problems. You might try updating to see if that's all it takes for you.

BUT BE CAREFUL with that specific update! v27 to v28 breaks a lot of plugins, so you'll have to reinstall those too, and if you don't do it EXACTLY right, you'll lose whatever settings you had in those plugins. The way to do it is:
  1. Back up everything!!! Use each plugin's backup or export feature if it has one, otherwise screenshot it. Make sure that you do actually have a useful record of everything before you proceed!
  2. Update OBS, but *don't run it yet*.
  3. Update the plugins.
  4. NOW, run OBS for the first time after updating, and see what plugins and settings survived. Use the backup(s) as needed.

One special note, if you use WebSockets:
OBS v28 and later has WebSockets built-in. You don't need a plugin for that anymore. But it works differently from v27 and before, so anything that talks to it will have to change accordingly. I think the old plugin has had one last update before being abandoned, just to make the old way still work on v28 and later, but you're really supposed to convert to the new way. How long the old plugin continues to work is anyone's guess.
