Bug Report OBS 24.0.6 Freezing On StartUp

This has been happening consistently for me.
I'm using the 64bit version of OBS 24.0.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6
I'm using a Canon M50 connected through Camera Live.

OBS has been working fine since I downloaded the newer version several weeks ago.
2 days ago however the screen froze during a broadcast on Facebook. Since then video on OBS freezes on the initial image as soon as I open it.
I've tried shutting it down the application and restarting it, I've created a new instance of my camera. I've lowered the video output resolution but it the video still freezes as soon as the program starts up.

I tried finding an earlier version of OBS to download to see if I can get an earlier version to work, but there appears to only be windows versions of the earlier OBS versions.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for solving this?

Thanks in advance.

Syphon is not fully functional in Mojave and above.

I would try deleting your scene with the syphon source in it and see if the crash still happens.

All old versions of OBS are available on GitHub. Not every release tag has a Mac version. You have to drill down to each version and see which platforms it has downloads for.

Thanks Narcogen. Is there another way that OBS can see a camera? I have my M50 connected to "Camera Live" on my computer. I was using Syphon because that's the only thing that can see the camera (Via Camera Live) When I chose "Camera Capture Device" Can't see the M50 with or without Camera Live.

OBS can see any camera if it has a standard video class device driver on MacOS. The problem is that most DSLRs and some camcorders don't, and as such, using them as webcams is sometimes difficult.

Discovered what was hanging me up, I had too many windows open. Specifically, it may have been that I had to different facebook windows open. I closed all windows except for the few I need and only one Facebook and on my initial test it didn't freeze. So that's a start.
