Question / Help OBS 21.1 refuses to install, despite all C++ library files

I had a very nice OBS. Perfect. Configured to many scenes and fast. Now, I trued to update, and to my surprise, after the update, it doesn´t work anymore. It says that my system doesn´t has the files

OBS Studio requires some additional files (Visual C++ 2017 Redistributables) that are not currently installed on your system. Please download and run both of these Microsoft installers in order to continue setup:

Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable [64 bit] - vc2017redist_x64.exe

Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable [32 bit] - vc2017redist_x86.exe

Both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions should be installed, even if you have a 64 bit version of Windows.

But the truth is that I alredy installed both files, and OBS doesn´t recognize them. I can´t use OBS anymore. What should I do to fix ? Thanks in advance.

I have this same issue, Windows 7 64 HP and both libraries installed and still get msg to install them (PC restarted).

Make sure your windows updates are actually up to date too.

What error do you get if you try to launch OBS anyway (eg via the .zip download)?

What happens when you run both of the installers?

It looks similar to this one: Cant install OBS.
You can try to unpack the .zip archive of the program (https://obsproject.com/download) to any new folder and run bin\64bit\obs64.exe - it may show to you which file actually missing.

It seems stupid but i ran c dis in 32bit rather than 64bit even tho im running a 64bit os. worked

The instructions in OBS specifically say you need both.

Upgrade to Windows 10, Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft.
