Question / Help OBS 17 Frequent Crashes (CRASH LOGS INCLUDED)

Whenever I try to edit a scene, make a folder change to where my stream recording go, or etc... I always crash. I have uninstalled and reinstalled OBS Studio entirely and still does the same thing.

I stream through an Elgato Card HD 60 if that is needed to be known.

Any Ideas Why I keep crashing?

dbroverlayiconbackuped.dll is the cause of your issue.
You seem to have a Backup Program that causes Programs that use QT (which OBS does) to crash.
The Backup program is apparently Dell Backup and Recovery.

If you need this program update it. That should also fix the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not the best with computers so I am trying to find out where I can either stop this Dell Backup and Recovery from running. Or to update it.

Would you possibly know where to find it?

I don't have Win 10 here but it should work like this

  1. On the Start menu, select Settings .
  2. Select System > Apps & features .
  3. Select the program, and then select Uninstall . Some apps built into Windows can't be uninstalled.
  4. Follow the directions on the screen.

I uninstalled but it crashed asap again. Is it still the same problem? My OBS never did this before the 17.0 update. Can I revert back to the previous version before update 17

Thank You for the previous Builds. I am reverting back because update 17.0 has been a disaster for me. I like the idea of the replay buffer but it crashes everytime. Thanks!

I have used OBS tho for 2 and a half years. Never have had any issue with this crashing like this before. Until I downloaded the 17.0 update. Would there be any other reason why the 17.0 update has been so buggy for me. If its not the crashed it will lose my Elgato Game Capture Card signal. It will randomly at times when I open OBS Studio will lose my webcam. I have to restart my computer to get back both my webcam and elgato signals.

Yes I have always been using W10 since W10 release. Does it make a difference on 32 bit to 64 bit. I noticed this 17.0 update is 64 bit. Is there a way I can download a 32 bit version of it?

I deleted the main Dell Backup and Recovery location. I can delete all the files that show the subsequent files containing (Dbr.) - to see if that fixes my problem

Is it update to W10 or clear install?

Just change shortcut, to point it to the 32bit exe of the obs (it is already pre-installed on your system).

Do you mean dor the Dell Back and Recover? I have honestly never even opened it or knew about it till another member (ACE) at the beginning of my post mentioned that it was the problem. If it was the problem tho because it uses Qt5 and you mentioned all OBS versions do shouldn't it have been a problem before for the other versions of OBS because I never had any problems before.

Also when you mean change shortcut to the 32bit is there a step by step process I can find how to do that?

Thank you for talking with me about this Suslik and helping me I appreciate it. I stream everynight on Twitch and now all of a sudden I can't and it has been frustrating.

change shortcut properties:
bin\64bit\obs64.exe
bin\64bit

to

bin\32bit\obs32.exe
bin\32bit

and vise versa.

I did read that. I guess I'll re install Dell Back and Recovery. Then follow that process in the link and see if it fixes it. I don't want to come off annoying saying but if all the OBS versions uses Qt5 and my problem is that a Backup program is using Qt5 why hasn't this problem occurred before? The second I updated to 17.0 update this problem started.

I know you may not be able to answer that question and I am hoping the fix is right in front of my face and I am just overlooking it but I will do that process to the link you provided.
