Okay I've been tinkering with OBS for the past two days and I'm still not able to find a solution.I'm having stuttering issues in NBA 2K19 and FIFA 19.
First the hardware:
6700k,1080ti,16GB DDR4,1440p 144hz monitor. I'm saving my recordings on an SSD.
I tried all the usual tips that this forum and youtube videos recommend :
1.Disabled windows game mode, focus assist, dvr, uninstalled GeForce Experience.
2.Limited my game FPS.When I did this my GPU usage never exceeded 60% but the stuttering was still there.
3.Tried the following settings:
3a. CQP
3b.Tried Disabling two-pass encoding
3c.Tried all the profiles - High Quality,High Performance,Bluray.
3d.Tried monitor capture.
3e.Tried my game in Windowed/Borderless , V-Sync off / V-Sync on.
3f.Tried playing on 1080p windowed just to see if it's my GPU getting overloaded.
3g.Tried CBR with 5000kbps just to be sure it's not the encoder that's overloaded.
4.Checked logs and in all of them I never dropped more than 0.5% of my frames.
5.Checked my CPU usage and it was never above 55-60%.
Keep in mind all of this is happening on a fresh two day old Windows 10 install. All drivers are in place, performance in actual games is flawless with FPS above 100 when I've not locked it with Riva/V-Sync.
Last thoughts:I will attach a log file from one of the thousands of recordings I've tried if that helps but it doesn't seem to show anything wrong.
Also , last year I had a 1080 before i upgraded to the 1080ti and I never had problems with recording while playing without limiting my FPS and doing anything crazy whatsoever. It seems something changed with OBS or Windows in the past year but for the life of me I can not find what it is.It's just weird at this point.
Edit: Tested CS:GO and the recordings are perfect. It's something to do with those 2 games.Still can't point my finger on what.
Edit 2 : Setting the FPS value to Integer and making it 100 fixed (or masked the issue) but that's not a valid long term solution obviously.
