Question / Help (NVENC) Starting the output failed

Today I upgraded my OBS version to 20.1.3 from 0.12.3, and suddenly NVENC won't work anymore, no matter what I do.
Says: "Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.
Note: If you are using the NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date."

Why did it stop working after updating?

Why not just update your drivers instead?
Because then I'll spend the next week trying (and failing) to fix it when it inevitably fails to function.
I'll try to update them, but if they fail I'm just going to go back to 368.81.

Error 43.
That's all I really have to say on why.

And how exactly are you doing your update?
-Downloaded driver from enBidia site
-Booted on safe mode and used DDU to remove previous driver
-When it rebooted on normal mode, I installed the new driver
What you're supposed to do when installing a new driver.
None of the related features work, by the way. Geforce Experience just says I need an update but if I install that one the same thing happens. No nvidia menu at all, anywhere.

In GeForce Experience, click the Drivers menu next to Home.
Then, click the button, Check for Updates. Current version was released a few days ago = 388.71

If I install through Geforce Experience, it just keeps doing an endless loop of downloading the driver I already had downloaded over and over.
