Question / Help Nvenc not showing up in "Encoder" drop bar

As the title states, the Nvenc option will not show up in the encoder drop bar. I recently changed my video card but this was before I started streaming (Less than a month ago I started). I switched from an AMD card to an Nvidia card (Obviously since I want the Nvenc setting). The reason I want Nvenc settings for OBS is because my CPU isn't great for streaming The Division since it's demanding. It's constantly and consistently going up to 100% usage causing bad frame drops not only for my game but also for my stream. My buddy first tested this out for streaming The Division and it worked for him. However I can't figure out a way to get the nvenc setting to appear in the "Endcoder" drop bar. So this is a list of the things I have done to try to fix this;
  • Uninstalled ALL the Nvidia drivers and reinstalled them
  • I uninstalled OBS and switched to OBS Studio (Didn't show up in the original OBS either)
  • Googled what other people have done and didn't find a result involving this same situation.
I have no idea what else could be causing this since everyone else already has it and just never uses it.

Here is a list of my specs with the average heat;
  • Operating System
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
  • CPU
    AMD FX-6300 40 °C
    Vishera 32nm Technology
  • RAM
    8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
  • Motherboard
    ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 (CPUSocket) 39 °C
  • Graphics
    VA2246 SERIES (1920x1080@60Hz)
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (EVGA) 52 °C
  • Storage
    931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 ATA Device (SATA) 33 °C
    111GB KINGSTON SV300S37A120G ATA Device (SSD) 31 °C
  • Optical Drives
    TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB ATA Device
    DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device

This is my first time posting about software on a forum. I know I'm a scrub, just let me know if you need any other information.

Also If you have any suggestions to improving stream quality, feel free to chip in! I'm new to this and any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi,

I got a GTX 980 TI SLI System and the NVENC option is not showing up in my OBS Studio Software, although
Windows 10 Enterprise x64 is installed.
I want to try it because x264 is stuttering like hell on my high-end-pc and I dont know why...

What to do?

Greetings
VoodooDE

1> don't thread hijack
2> make sure your drivers are up to date
3> Don't thread hijack.

I dont know what you mean with "thread hijack". I have exactly the same problem as Wachootoo who opened this thread. Why on earth should I open a new thread for the same problem? If I had done this, everybody would hate again, because I made a new thread -.- Oh I hate mankind ....

However I solved the problem via opening the right settings in the OBS studio software...
