Question / Help NVENC not available

I have a GT 1030 and OBS only shows x246 how can this be?

The GT 1030 (GP108) does not support NVENC. This has been confirmed by someone at NVIDIA.

Just thought I'd necro this thread incase anyone else is looking for topic.

Why did my older cards (GT 640 and GT740) support it then? :(

Because some of the older generations did indeed have NVENC, but in the Pascal line, only the GTX supports. I'm sorry.

Dangit, which card would you suggest if i want NVENC under 200$ ?

Or RX580 for better performance but at $250 or so.... so 1050ti may be better option if they are still available under $150

Either way you'll get a good performance bump with the 1050ti or the RX580 (Which is AMD AMF Encoder, built in like an NVENC)
