Question / Help NVENC laggy preview/game but only using 10% of GPU

Using the settings from this article https://obsproject.com/forum/resour...lity-recording-and-multiple-audio-tracks.221/ for recording and I get lag in the video but no lag in game. Task Manager says my second GPU (750 TI for encoding) is only using at most 10%.

Turn the gpu on nvenc back to 0 and remove the 750TI completely.

Changing Preset to default

I set the GPU to 0 and changed the Preset to default. I have a 1060 and it's video encoding was only using 3-4%. No change

I can, but I do use both GPUs for other things besides recording gameplay. I don't see how physically removing the second card will improve things.

You're running your 1060 in pci-e X8 instead of x16. It's a major performance hit

I physically removed the 750TI and it still lags. Only the video lags nothing else. I did also double check to see if I had all Windows/nvidia drivers installed, just in case and I do.

I used this same computer with OBS on a 770 but that card died so I got my current 1060

Are you running overwatch with the framerate uncapped?

I have it set to 150 and it hardly stays at 150 typically dropping to around 100

And what refresh rate is your display?

Last log shows rendering lag, so the GPU seems to be at >90% load pretty often.
Capping ingame fps to 150 although the computer can't keep those 150fps stable all the time sounds like GPU overload, too.
Cap your Overwatch FPS to 60 and test, if it helps.
If so, you could try to increase that cap to 120 later.
