Hey all,

My understanding is that the encoder only touches your output resolution. So I am playing at 1440p 60fps and streaming at 720p 60fps. I am getting missed and skipped frames due to encoder being overloaded. I have tried all the step the forums mention and that I can think of. I feel like my PC is more than capable of this output. I've tried dropping the Resolution to 1080p, which is unfortunate for my monitors, the fps is capped at 60 (streaming DS3), I've reinstalled drivers and OBS, I've tried SLOBS as well and get about the same results.

I have an i7 8700k, RTX 2070, and 32GB 3000mhz.

Is anyone able to take a look at my log and help me out, or maybe come up with some ideas I have not. Thanks in advance, and let me know if I left any information out.

You've got very few drops, but most of the ones you have are GPU overload, not encoder overload. (I believe with NVENC right now, the total of frames dropped for encoding lag includes those already dropped for rendering lag.)

16:53:59.029: Output 'adv_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 870 (0.2%)
16:53:59.029: Output 'adv_stream': Number of dropped frames due to insufficient bandwidth/connection stalls: 62 (0.0%)
16:53:59.029: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 940/349251 (0.3%)

Nothing else jumps out at me. You've already turned off psycho visual tuning, and you're not dropping a significant number of frames.

Are both your displays running the same refresh rate?

Yes, both display are running at 144hz, I guess I just don't know how to stop my GPU capping out, as even changing it to 1080p gave me about the same results.

Turning off your previews might help. If your display is 144hz that's the rate your preview runs at even if you're capturing at a lower rate.

Here is my most recent log file with Preview Disabled. I guess it's not unbearable for my viewers but it really annoys me lol

Reducing the canvas resolution might reduce the rendering lag.
