I have been testing this and though I haven't tested with complete control I have found the full resolution works better on my streaming computer.
The computer is tasked with taking 1920x1080 and scaling it to 1280x720, then uploading that all to the internet in a live stream.
The last 2 live streams I did the other days (one Sat and one Fri) were like night and day quality wise. Friday's stream was 1:45:00 or so, and the audio cut out from 42:00 to 51:00 or so, then later it cut out from 1:24:00 to 1:38:00. The rest had pretty solid audio. When the audio cut out, typically the video went as frozen most of the time.
When I went to check the Friday stream at the end, I noticed my computer was really hot, though the hotspot was cool because I was cooling my phone on a stand with a small fan.
For the Saturday livestream the only settings change I made was to switch from quarter res to full res in the NVENC dual pass field for resolution. Well that's not the only difference, I also moved the entire phone blowing operation closer and aimed the fan up under the laptop where it's mounted against the wall.
So the Saturday livestream was 2:20:00 and there wasn't one breakup in audio.
Any thoughts on the half resolution not making computers as hot, or having less audio difficulties? Or do you think it's entirely the small external fan blowing away the excess heat that made the 2nd stream complete with audio come off without a hitch?
