NVENC does not equals QuickSync (Settings)

The recording with CQP (for example) to a local file is different for "no reason".

The point is that the QuickSync recording is not usable in Adobe Premiere Pro but it works very well in Vegas Pro 15/16. The NVENC recording is flawless in that case.

There is surely something different in terms of H264 Encoder-Settings. Sadly you cannot change anything in OBS.

Can you make the QuickSync recording like the NVENC please?! Remuxing does not fix the problem. Re-Encoding sure, but there is a big quality and time loss with that. Talking about 100-200 GB Files.

Would be great to see this! There must be a small difference between QuickSync and NVENC, I am sure. But there is no need to be so.

Kind regards!

Can you post OBS logs, media info, and sample files (to a file sharing site) for both a file recorded via QuickSync and a file recorded via NVEnc where this problem happens, using as similar settings between the two as possible?

I recorded the files with NVENC and QuickSync (by name u can tell). Going for both recordings with high quality preset and CQP as quality control. Using "main" as profile does not change anything, I have already tested this of course.

The QuickSync recording remains incompatible with ADOBE PREMIERE PRO!

Sample Files go here (it is funny how the QuickSync recording does not provide thumbnails there but the NVENC does).

I never mentioned why using QuickSync has an advantage even NVENC does very well and has the same quality.
So there is no problem using NVENC ....unless you are hitting 100% GPU usage. Recording with NVENC @1440p takes like 4-9% of GPU usage and about 40-60% Video Engine usage which is very low to be fair.

But still... if you hit 100% GPU usage with NVENC, the recording suffers a drop to 10-20fps from 60fps (approximately) during that time + a bit longer. The audio track remains fine and still matches the video.

Using QuickSync obviously has no issues with hitting 100% GPU usage. Hitting 100% CPU usage is also not a problem, the recording remains perfect. Besides that you most likely not gonna hit the CPU limit in games for example.

Can anyone confirm that there is really a Problem with those recordings? Someone who has Adobe Premiere Pro?! Would be great!
