NVENC Code - Vid drivers up to date

Hi there! Will someone please tell me how to update my video drivers (all I want to do is "start recording"). Thank you!

Hi! Just "updated" NVIDIA Get Force GT 720 and HD Webcam C525 with Control Panel/Device Mgr and got "update complete" and rebooted - still getting window saying...

Change your encoders in settings - output to something that isn't nvenc.
Your video card doesn't have the hardware for the encoder.
Device manager is the wrong place to be updating nvidia video card drivers. You should be getting your updates for those direct from nvidia.

Thank you Harold! I am a newbie, so I am not sure what you mean, can you recommend with more detail please.

Also, just noticed that OBS studio is for Windows 8+ and I have 7, so uninstalled and now installing OBS Classic, is this the right thing to do?

BTW: had OBS and it worked fine, computer crashed and having to re-install/set up everything: UGH!

Absolutely not. Classic is even less supported than studio and has had no development updates in years.

Windows 7 stopped receiving new updates from microsoft january 2020, it is now almost june 2021. You really should be working towards getting windows 10 on your system.

Harold, yes I know, but currently all my software (including Photoshop2012) is running alright on 7 and I cannot afford to get all new software at this time. I would very much like to use OBS, as before crash, some version was working on 7 and I LOVED it! Do you have a recommendation for me please?

Direct questions: will OBS Studio run on Windows 7 (it was before crash) and if so, how do I fix "NVENC Codec so drivers are up to date? Thank you!

Windows 7 keys are still valid for windows 10. I'd strongly recommend the upgrade.

Current versions of OBS SHOULD work on windows 7, but if any windows 7 specific issues come up, you're likely on your own.

Don't use nvenc as your encoder in settings - output on your system.

Simple output mode, Indistinguishable recording quality, mkv format, and try each encoder available in the list until you get one that works and has the desired impact on your system.

reinstalled OBS tried settings as suggested, please see attached - same hardware (except new solid-state hard drive) and software as before, why can't I record please?

As mentioned already, your GPU does not physically have NVENC, you cannot use it. Pick a different encoder.
