NV ENC ERR INVALID VERSION

I am trying to get started with OBS (version 25.0.8). on my Win 10 laptop. When testing Streaming or recording I get the above message which is on my subject line.
I am trying to get started with streaming a music performance with hardware synths, an audio interface and hopefully an ipad or some kind of smartphone if I get one.

Update your nvidia drivers from the nvidia website.

This is the first time I ever opened OBS. So I don't know whether it was mp4 or something else. What extension would you suggest? Thanks.
