Question / Help Not Recording Audio

I have just installed both OBS and OBS Studio to see if I could get them to work. The original version is able to record audio no problem but with the same settings on OBS Studio the display will record fine but there is no audio from both the microphone and Desktop audio. I am sure I am doing something wrong but am unaware of what it could be.

Yes, it works fine with that. Now why is that is that, why does it work with that but not with windows media player?

I have the same problem, as I would end my recording and watch the video over or edit, there would be no audio to go along with it. And the posting a log thing I don't understand how it would help.

Because windows media player's media format support is GARBAGE.

I think, it was designed to show that PC is fully operational (can play video & audio), right after purchase. Not more.

Microsoft writes player - it works, you cannot ask more. Computing is not only video & audio, PC is versatile. For different tasks you need different software. Always try to use the best solutions. VLC player is quite enough for me. I use Gom Player and forks of the MPlayer as well, along side with mpv. And to play audio only - old Winamp and foobar2000. So, 5 players above the system pre-installed one.
