I had the same issue. I'm pretty sure something broke with the update. The only thing that I have found that "fixes" it is to have it appear in the system tray in the upper right hand corner of the screen. When that happens, click on the icon and magically, it somehow fixes itself.
In order to get it to work, I had to close and restart it until it finally opened properly. Then in your Settings under "General", enable the system tray icon. After that, every time it opens improperly, I've been able to get it to fix itself by clicking that icon.
