Hi
I have been experiencing issues recording a DX9 shooter game named [Paladins]. I try every setting in the game capture properties, none worked. I am able to record 7 other games installed on my computer but just not that particular game. I have tried all capture sources, ALL failed except for window capture. As long as the game is full screen, it will never work. But if I record the game using windowed, the video will be a bit laggy and my game will suffer from serious fps drop. Same for recording 7 other games using window capture. I am supposing it is not necessarily OBS's problem but I would like some suggestions.
I am sure that obs64.exe and my game is running on the same GPU which is GTX 960M. It can be seen through Nvidia's GPU activity monitor. However, I am not seeing any images on preview, or it is totally blank. I do not think it is because of the GPU settings as I am able to record other games such as CounterStrike and Team Fortress 2. I do have 2 GPUs on my laptop, one is Intel Integrated HD 530, which my obs was NOT running on. Another is GTX 960M.
I have ensured all drivers and windows is up to date. OS is Win 10 64-bit Creators update. Tried reinstalling the game, reinstalling obs, none worked.
My OBS Studio is 0.19.3, up to date. I have been running 64-bit version to record, which is (obs64.exe). I only have one renderer available for some unknown reason (I mentioned in another thread). I used to have both DX11 and OpenGL renderers available a month ago, but now I only have one avilable which is DX11. When I used OpenGL, the game WILL BE recorded most of the times, not all the time. But if I use DX11 renderer, the game has not appeared on preview so far. I do not think there is a problem as the developer said the game was using DX9.
I recently only installed the following software, however, before these installations, OpenGL is still not available and this particular game was still not able to be captured.
Adobe Photoshop CC 2017
Adobe Bridge CC 2017
Nvidia GPU Driver version 382.53 (latest version)
GeForce Experience version 3.7.0.81 (lastest version)
My system info:
HP Pavilion Notebook 15 bc009-tx
CPU: i7-6700HQ
GPU: GTX 960M
RAM: DDR4 2133Mhz 8GB
Other info please refer to DxDiag.txt
I will be posting a log later. Note that the is just a start up log, it does not include when I tried to record. If log including recording is needed, please tell me and I will provide.
Thanks for any help.
