Same problem here on a MacBook Air M1, latest VLC and OBS version. Also tried several times...
My log tells me what the problem is but I don't know how to fix it :( Any ideas anyone? Thanks a lot!

Code:
16:11:29.586: os_dlopen(/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/libvlccore.dylib->/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/libvlccore.dylib): dlopen(/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/libvlccore.dylib, 257): no suitable image found. Did find:
16:11:29.586:     /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/libvlccore.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
16:11:29.586:     /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/libvlccore.dylib: stat() failed with errno=17
16:11:29.586:
16:11:29.586: Couldn't find VLC installation, VLC video source disabled

On the Apple M1 you should downgrade to the non-M1 version, that is version 3.0.12. So don't install version 3.0.12.1, which is the Silicon M1 version that doesn't work with OBS

Thaaaaanks Koen! I did in fact think about that, but hadn't tested it because it just sounded too simple a solution... Thanks again for the short & sweet solution :)

Thanks Koen, actually I've tryed this too, but somehow it didnt work before, but now, as I've deleted all system files, restarted after and enabled kernel extensions as well, now it works! Thanks :)
