No sound on recordings

Do the sound settings keep reseting themselves?
on playback of first test, sound eventually comes in on the recording, but then every clip I record now has no sound?
any online readable clues to what I should have set to just record a clip with sound on my Mac? And keep the audio settings once set.
little booklet not that helpful and hard to read with old eyes…

OBS is supposed to remember everything automatically. No explicit save button.

Something that's often used in public-facing kiosks, and other things that are easy to mess up and hard to fix, is an immutable filesystem. You can write to it all you want, and it'll read that back, but when it reboots, it goes back to an earlier snapshot and everything that happened after that snapshot is lost. Instant fix for whatever the public, or a virus, or whatever, might have messed up.

It's not too common for a *personal* computer to have that, but if it came from somewhere that did, then maybe it still does.

It doesn't have to be the entire system either. It could be just one folder (like the one that has all of your personal settings in it), and everything under that.

Did you get any help figuring out why the sound (my voice) isn't recording as well as the tutorial I'm showing on my desktop?

I don't see any answers for you and I also tried the "fixes" listed and none have worked so far? I'm older too and first time user of OBS ;)

Same for me too; video excellent, sound none.
also how do I get rid of mirror effect when preparing to record my screen? Looked in settings to no avail.
