No sound from Media Source

I used Media Source to input an MP4 video. The video plays but there is no sound.
Audio Output Capture and Audio Input Capture are listed above Media Source.
Since I am using my headset Speaker High Definition Audio device is selected.
When I tested my headset it worked. Why is there no sound when I play the video?

If the media source itself contains audio, there should an additional audio track with fader appear in the obs audio mixer while the scene is playing. Are there meters going?

(This should be completely independent from other output capture or input capture.)

If not, test the mp4 file with vlc player please, if there are audio track(s) at all.

OBS does not by default play the audio back over the default output device, under the assumption that most people will have OBS set to capture audio coming from the default device (so it would be doubled, once from the media source, and once from the Desktop Audio channel).

If you want to hear the audio through your speakers too while it's playing, go into the Advanced Audio Properties and set the media source to Monitor Only. This will make OBS not send the audio to the stream from the Media Source directly (so no doubling), but SHOULD capture the audio on the Desktop channel and send it out to the stream, assuming your monitoring device is set to your desktop playback device (which it defaults to, unless you've changed it in OBS).
