Hi there,
I fail having sound from my RME UCX, both with USB and FW connection. I've created an Input Device in the Sources. Selected the UCX. No sound (through input 1 or 2).
Any help ?
Thanks !

Bumping this after 24 hours of headaches !
Hey @Hampelmann - Multiple audio devices don't play well with Macs/OBS out of the box unfortunately. The best solution I've found is Loopback. It costs $99 but has a free trial so you can try it out beforehand. You can manage all of your inputs/outputs on Loopback directly. Here's the link: https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/

To integrate with OBS, make sure Loopback is running and set your "Desktop Audio Input" in your OBS preferences to "Loopback Audio Device".

I know others have had success using Soundflower to accomplish a similar result, which I believe is a free plugin. I've found Loopback to be well worth the cost and not nearly as buggy. Let me know if this works for you or if you still have issues.

Thanks. I must have been unclear, I'm only looking to use an external sound card as the only stereo input. It appears to be working well with other sound cards that I own so it must be a problem with the RME UCX.
Currently using a Zoom H4N and apparently working well.

Hey @Hampelmann - Thanks for clarifying. I follow.

If you Option+Click your volume icon in the top menu, do you see the RME UCX as an input? If so, make sure that's selected, restart OBS, and change your "Desktop Audio" in OBS preferences to the RME UCX.

If you see it as an input but don't see it in OBS after following the steps above, you will likely need something like Loopback to recognize the device as an input in OBS. I ran into this same problem when I initially wanted to run my Scarlett as the sole audio source for a stream. I would recommend trying the demo of loopback and following steps of earlier message to see if that fixes it. I have a feeling it will, but obviously you'd have to pay for it if you wanted to use it as a full time solution. Let me know how it goes.
