Question / Help No sound accompanying saved video recording from website

I see other people have this query too. I am using a MacBook Pro, mid 2015, latest operating system and all software updated. I am trying to make a recording of the video at this URL: http://www.ruv.is/spila/ruv/frettir/20180401
and while the sound comes through while it's recording, only the video records - in the recording there is no audio. Very frustrating. Any tips as to how to rectify the problem? Sorry, I'm not exactly sure how to make a log file.

Thanks for this, maybe I'm a bit confused, I thought the problem of desktop audio with a mac only related to audio recorded by the Mac itself, eg audio from the Mac's inbuilt mic. So, are you saying that you need this extra software to record the audio from a videofile streamed from the web?

If you're loading from the URL you posted, then you're most likely using the Browser source and not the media source, in which case the desktop audio output device is required.

That problem is for "desktop audio" such as speakers, not mics.

I believe the OP is mistaken referring to the inbuilt mic-- he's trying to get sound from a remote file.
