Question / Help No option for HEVC in MacOS, would an eGPU show up?

I only see an x264 option for MacOS. Not sure why maybe I'm doing something wrong, I have an AMD 460 so I assume it should be there anyways. Was thinking bout getting an eGPU soon, was curious if it would show up then or if the option just isn't useable for MacOS?

Also anyone know what Apple VT software/hardware encoder is, would that keep up with x264?

I have an RX580. No options for x265 or hardware encoder display.

I've been told the hardware encoder is only QuickSync on Intel.
