Question / Help No oem device option

Hi there, firstly I am a bit of a dinosaur where this sort of thing is concerned so please forgive my ignorance ;-)

I am trying to copy my old 8mm tapes onto my pc using an easycap device and have followed a video I watched. I needed to download OBS and then when setting it up to add a device, according to the video there is an OEM device option as well as the webcam. However, I have only found the webcam option and the camcorder is plugged in and running but not being recognised.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance.

If your capture device doesn't show up along with a possibly also existing webcam, then the driver of the capture device isn't installed or isn't recognizing the capture device. It may also be that the bitness (32-bit/64-bit) isn't correct between capture device driver and OBS.

Thanks a lot Koala, I thought I had installed the driver from the software but it appears I hadn't! (Dinosaur strikes again )

Much appreciated

Hi there, I am having a similar problem.

I am trying to do the same thing and the OEM device option is not showing up for me either. I did install the capture device driver and the disc I installed it from says its version is 64 bit and I know that the computer I am using is also 64 bit.

I could really use some help, I'm at my wits end.

Thanks so much in advance.
