Question / Help No NDI Source available (dropdown list is empty)

Hi there!

I'm trying to use my Elgato Game Capture HD60 S as an NDI Source on OBS, but it won't work. I'm following the instructions available here: https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031363132-OBS-Link-Setup

I can go as far as step 6 - when I go to 7, which is to add a new NDI source, the dropdown menu will be empty. The "NDI Source" even appears as an option, but in the following screen I should be able to see the Elgato in the "Name" dropdown, which I'm not. Please see the screenshot attached for reference.

I can successfully select my Game Capture device on the OBS Link app, it just seems like OBS won't be able to pick it up as a source.

Here are the versions of my software:

macOS Catalina (10.15.4)
OBS 25.0.8 (64 bit)
OBS Link 1.0.1
OBS NDI Plugin installed

Here's my log file.
Can you help me understand what's wrong?

Thanks!

That would indicate that the OBS Link program is not actually sending an NDI stream.

I would attempt to verify by seeing if any other application can detect this NDI source-- say, the Studio Monitor application that is part of NDI Tools.

It's called "NDI Video Monitor". It's the same application.

There is also an alternative:

Got it! I downloaded the software and you are right: Source is not available there either.
Screenshot attached.

Can't seem to find any settings on OBS Link that could fix this though :(

I don't either, but that would make this a request for support with OBS Link that should be addressed to Elgato. If you're doing something wrong, they should be able to tell you, and if not, then there's a bug in their software they need to fix.

Yeah, I think you're right. I was hoping I could get some support from the team here to be honest. Where do you think is the best place to reach out?
