Question / Help No feed back with Xbox Companion

Hi there,

I am helping my friend try to use their computer to stream Xbox through OBS with the Xbox companion app, but if we are in OBS while streaming the Xbox, OBS won't show him navigating the Xbox dashboard. It is just frozen until you go back to the Companion app. He was hoping to stream on Twitch, but won't be able to see the chat at the same time. I know this worked a couple years ago on my laptop, not sure why it won't work now.

I'm sure this could be solved with a second monitor, but it's not in the budget right now.

you must disable HDCP on your capture card for this to work. HDCP blocks protected content and the xbox dashboard is protected content.

We don't use capture cards? It was a thing you could do with the Xbox Companion app for Windows 10. Unless this is a setting on the computer itself like with the graphics card.
