Question / Help No desktop sound on some games

Hello everyone!

As the title says, my OBS Studio only snaps up the sound on some games. I've seen a couple of fixes where people run 64-bit version, which I am doing already. So, the games I run from is from steam, 2 games which does not work is Dishonored 2 and Ori and the blind forest DE, other games have worked perfectly fine. Also, my spotify is not working as well. For me, this is not making any sense. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Thank you in advance,

/Christopher

Well, try making sure your desktop audio source is set to default, and then make sure you default is not split.

what i mean by that, is some software, including games, will send their audio to the default communication device not the default audio device, so if your default communication device is different from your default audio device it will not be picked up.

If this is not the case, try picking the audio device in obs, ive had times where my mic was not picked up by obs, until i picked it inside the software itself.

If not of that works idk.

I have tried different audio settings both in OBS and Windows. I'm using a different sound card than the one that's on the motherboard. Not sure why this doesnt want to work.. Thanks anyways :)

Faced the same problem with Ori and the blind forest DE. Run as administrator and the sound is working in obs too.
