Question / Help No Desktop Audio Detected

After scouring the internet and this forum for a while, it looks as though I will need to post to get this resolved.

Full disclaimer: I've never used OBS before, so hopefully this will be an easy fix.

Problem: No desktop audio is detected. My mic is picking up just fine, but there isn't even a blip of detected audio coming from any other source. Attempting to record and playback confirms that nothing is being recorded (played in VLC).

Is there anything else that will help troubleshoot this? Thanks

What audio sample rate do you have selected in windows' control panel for your speakers?
Do you allow programs to open the device in exclusive mode?

Have you tried manually selecting the audio device instead of just choosing "Default" for that device?

Sadly so. I've tried every available audio device to no avail.

Just to be sure I'm changing the correct thing:

No luck that way either.

Side note: I can't get Shadowplay to record at all, and the Overwolf recording app gives the error: System sound capture error

Anyone else want to take a shot at this? I can record what my mic pics up, but no audio outputs are detected.
