Question / Help No desktop audio being captured.

I found a workaround. Use your main speaker output in the scene in OBS. I had mine set to my external soundcard (Saffire Pro 40), but setting it to standard speakers is what worked.

I have to reset my audio settings (after opening up say my music player) every single time I open OBS to get it to capture anything other than game audio and my mic.

Sorry, can you explain how you did this? I've set desktop audio to capture my speaker but the bar still doesn't show green

In your settings remove any audio device.
In your scene, add a new source Audio Output Device, in properties of the source choose the device which has your audio and not default.
Do the same for Audio Input Capture and for mic

If you changed anything in the "Mixer" please undo and use default.

Thanks but still doesn't work. Tried a clean reinstall of OBS as well.

I just have to disable the desktop audio device, apply the settings, and then reset it to default (hitting apply/save again).
