Question / Help No capture card or web cam on OBS startup

Every time I open OBS I get no console capture or webcam capture. This also happens with mic recognition as well. I have to shut OBS down and re open it up 3-4 times before i can see it in the stream preview screen. I have the most up to date versions of all devices and have tried scene deletion and re adding the scenes. I've also tried other USB ports with the same results. I have also uninstalled OBS and re-installed it with no change. Not sure what else I can do. Never had any problems like this in the almost 2 years of streaming with the same hardware as I have now. OBS also crashes about every other time I shout it down. Here is a recent log file and crash report. Thanks

It looks like you have multiple video capture sources with the same device. Keep in mind devices on other scenes can still be active even if they aren't visible. You may want to move some of your scenes to different scene collections.

I thought that was the reason for having multiple scenes so I can switch back and forth on the fly. Maybe I'm confused on the difference between different scenes and scene collections. Can you give me a brief explanation on how to do this? Thanks for your reply
