Question / Help No audio while recording or streaming

Hello there! I have an odd issue where the OBS recording or Twitch stream has no audio. I see audio levels moving in the streaming PC's OBS. So it looks like the audio is coming in but it is not coming out to recording or stream. I usually restart OBS a few times and check audio with a short recording. This gets old fast. Please note, the video output is just fine.

high level topology
gaming PC w/ OBS preview output ------->HDMI to Elgato -------> streaming PC w/ OBS

Do I have some kind of audio setting mismatch or toggled a simple button?
