Issue: No Audio Output from NSW to OBS
Computer: ASUS, Windows 10
Gaming Platform: Nintendo Switch
Game Capture Card: HDMI to USB 2.0 dongle
Hello there! Newbie here. I've been researching my issue for 2-days straight. I have watched all possible related NSW HDMI-USB videos on YT. Read the post from YukiMiku (here: https://obsproject.com/forum/search/2458771/?q=nintendo+switch&o=date), chatted on OBS Discord and still no audio on my stream or my recording or the video output on OBS itself.
Here are the steps I have done:
(A) Checked the Windows Volume Mixer on the lower right-hand side of the laptop screen.
Step A.1: User mouse drag start on "Position (thumb)" in "Volume Mixer - Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)"
Step A.2: User mouse drag end on "Speakers (text)" in "Volume Mixer - Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)"
Observation: there's no movement on the HDMI-USB 2.0 dongle.
(B) Checked the Windows Setting > Sound > Input >
Input: Digital Audio Interface (FY HD Audio) also known as the HDMI-USB 2.0 dongle.
Step B.1: Clicked on Device Properties
Step B.2: Under Device Properties, clicked on Start Test
Test Result: The highest value we saw was 0 (zero) percent.
(C) Checked the OBS Main Audio Settings
Step C.1: File > Menu > Settings > Audio
Step C.2: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Desktop Audio > Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)
Step C.3: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Desktop Audio 2 > Disabled
Step C.4: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mix/Auxiliary Audio > Digital Audio Interface (FY HD Audio) also known as the HDMI-USB 2.0 dongle
Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mix/Auxiliary Audio > Microphone (Realtek(R) Audio)
Observation: there's no audio change with either of the options.
Step C.5: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mix/Auxiliary Audio 2 > Disabled
Step C.6: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mix/Auxiliary Audio 3 > Disabled
Step C.7: Audio > Global Audio Devices > Mix/Auxiliary Audio 4 > Disabled
(D) Checked the OBS Sources Settings
Step D.1: Sources > Video Capture Device > Device: FY HD Video
Step D.2: Sources > Video Capture Device > Audio Output Mode: Output Desktop Audio (DirectSound)
Step D.2.1: Sources > Video Capture Device > Audio Output Mode > Use Custom Audio Device
Step D.2.2: Sources > Video Capture Device > Audio Device: Digital Audio Interface (FY HD Audio)
Step D.3: Sources > Audio Input Capture > Digital Audio Interface (FY HD Audio)
Sources > Audio Input Capture > Microphone (Realtek(R) Audio)
Observation: there's no audio change with either of the options.
Step D.4: Sources > Audio Output Capture > Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)
(E) Checked the OBS Audio Mixer Settings
Step E.1: Audio Mixer Settings > Right-Click on a Cog Wheel > Advanced Audio Properties
Observation: there's no audio change when I toggle the Audio Monitoring options.
PLEASE HELP! I need your assistance badly!
