Question / Help No audio once added to windows movie maker

I'm a high school student and like to make stupid videos for projects sometimes so I use free stuff like obs studio and movie maker. I have used obs classic before and it worked just fine but obs studio has no audio when in movie maker. I want to switch over to studio because it seems more smooth and I could do more with it. Any ideas on how I can fix this or do I just have to stay with classic? (By the way I use mp4 for both of them if that helps).

Time to switch away from movie maker. It relies on the same code for media format support as windows media player, and WMP has a 15+ year history of TERRIBLE media format support.

And saving directly to mp4 is a VERY bad idea.

Thanks so much this list is so useful. But just wondering why is saving directly to mp4 so bad?

Because if ANYTHING interrupts the finalization of the file, the entire recording session is wasted.
