Question / Help no audio in VLC source

I tried using VLC source in place or media file today and I am encountering the same problem where I cannot hear the audio of the file. Is this an issue that is every going to get resolved or are we just SOL?

May I expand the question:

1. undo/redo or apply button
2. obs studio overlay (captured/not captured) with info customization
3. (done) underline/strike effects from font selection dialog
4. (done) layer lock
5. layer link
6. (done) saturation in color correction
7. (done) export/import scenes/profiles
8. (done) float windows for all controls
9. non-directshow devices support
10. video adapter selection (to run on)
11. output to the second video file (scene recording, like cam only)
12. (done) option to output media/vlc source to desktop audio
13. (done) replay buffer (time shift etc.)
14. (done; external plugin) obs studio virtual webcam device (own virtual device for output)
15. gamepad (x-input/direct) and midi devices for hotkeys
16. (done) preview 1:1 scale
17. (done) DirectX 12 support for "Game Capture"
18. transitions per scene (source that overrides global transition filter and duration)

are something on the list?
