Question / Help No audio From Media Source

Hello,

I seem to be having a problem. I have a video i want to play at the start of my streams and it has audio, but the audio from the mp4 does not come through the stream or recording.

I can see the audio bar moving,

but again there is no audio. I did some search and found it's not suppose to come through the desktop, but should go through the stream.

Any one have any ideas?

I ran into the same issue when trying to add my Video Capture Device over a local Media Source. No audio on my Media Source even though I saw the audio level moving.

The video from my webcam has no audio, that is a separate webcam input (often MIC AUX 2). When adding the Video Capture Device, look for the setting called "Audio Output Mode". I set mine to "Direct Sound" and it worked. The audio was back on my Media Source and my voice streamed from MIC AUX 2. Now both can be placed on their own tracks and leveled.

For me, OBS Video Capture Device has an audio feature that was taking over the audio for the Media Source while set to "Capture Audio Only".

As the OP mentioned I to have a video running at the start up on my stream, on the old OBS was able to cue to when the audio stopped to start my introduction speech.
Without actually hearing the sound on the preview mode that is hard to cue, I know have to wait and listen to my stream for it to end which leaves a gap of silence.
Either I need a timer bar to see where the audio ends or be able to listen to it.

this is also the case for some sound files I use as a soundboard I cant hear them myself if i want to cue em up on OBS studio I have to run em trough the desktop as a single sound file with the windows media player.

As I said on the OLD OBS this worked properly please make it happen again thanks!

similar problem as OP

capturing a rtmp stream in second pc with media source
i see the green audio bar moving but there is no audio on stream (i know desktop audio doesnt work in media source)
