No Audio from Capture Card - MSI or Windows issue?

Greetings,

I have done searches online and in this forum and have come up empty.

First, I do not think this is an OBS issue, but it was discovered in using OBS and hoping someone else has run into this and can help with a solution. We are using the the basic Amazon capture cards and had no issues until recently we are now unable to get audio through the card on a particular PC - the newer PC we purchased for Livestreaming. It is a MSI GE76 with Core i7 and Nvidia GeForce RTX running Windows 10. Audio still comes through the card on a recent HP Core i7 laptop also running Windows 10. We were using the MSI laptop with the capture card for about 6 months without issue. We have the appropriate USB Audio out selected in OBS.

The capture card seems to be recognized by Windows as an audio input device, but Windows settings do not work. For example in the Audio Settings for the Microphone the adjust bar snaps back to 0 when you try to adjust it and there is no button to make a test recording. The capture card also now does not work as an audio input for Zoom conferences.

Our current theory is that it is a Windows driver issue or perhaps an issue with some of the MSI gaming software - maybe a bad update of either? We have tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers to no avail.

Again, the combination of capture device and MSI laptop worked fine for about 6 months and the capture card still works with at least one other laptop. The combination appears to have just stopped working and we have been unable to identify a change in settings or hardware setup that caused the change.

Grateful for any ideas on a solution here. Thank you.
