Question / Help No Audio from audio interface in Mac Pro OSX 103.13.6 High Sierra

My interface (Motu 828x) is recognized in OBS but it does not see or route any audio. I've tested the mic/cable in several different DAWs and there's no issue.
In the terminal is says "warning: [input_callback]:[device 'MOTU 828x'] audio retrieval failed: -50"
Is there a way for OBS to recognize audio from this interface without going through an additional 3rd party program?

No. OBS is a stereo program and does not directly work with multichannel devices.

3rd party software like LoopBack by Rogue Amoeba will let you create multiple virtual 2 channel devices, assign channels from the Motu to it, and capture those in OBS.
