Question / Help No Audio for Certain Recorded file types

Hey,

This might be because I'm a complete noob with this software, but certain output types do not seem to create an audio output track. Most file types.

When the Output Mode is set to Simple or Advanced (with Type to to Standard), and the Recording format is set to flc, mp4, mkv, or mov, I get no audio (and the Desktop Audio is muted, Mic is unmuted an set to a WebCam Logitech 920 of which the VU meeter shows active audio levels). Setting the Recording Format to TS or m3u8, audio is captured.

In addition, when using the Advanced Output mode, and the Type is set to Custom (FFmpeg),container format set to Default Format, the resultant file is an mp4, but audio is capture as expected.

I expect I'm doing something wrong, but what?

Using what media player to check your recordings?
Have you tried installing coreaudio?

Hmm, interesting, thanks Harold. The standard OOTB Windows 10 "Film and TV" App and "Windows Media Player" both are unable to play audio. VLC on the other hand is OK.

When using FFmpeg (or saving to TS), all the above media players work.

Of course, sharing directly with other Windows users, this is what they are likely to use.
