Question / Help No audio encoder

Ive been trying to set up OBS for a few hours now. I recorded a video last night and the audio worked fine. I then closed OBS opened it up the next morning and the audio completely stoped working. My mic works but OBS cant pick it up. When i watched a few videos, i found my way to the advanced recording settings. The drop down menu for audio encoder doesn't have any options to choose. Help?

Do you mean the custom FFMpeg output option? Because most users do not need to use that.

It's almost never necessary to choose an audio encoder when using OBS, and if OBS can't add your mic as a source, it doesn't have anything to do with the codec chosen for encoding audio-- you're not getting audio to encode.
